Out with the Sniffles & In with 2025
Ladies & Gents, after another precious season with friends and family - which of course includes you, the audience - it’s that time of year when we reset and start the whole game over again. Of course, I stumbled to the finish line this year as the night of our final broadcast of 2024, I caught the sniffles in the second hour of the broadcast with J, and that turned into two and a half days lying on my back, and missing the ball drop for the first time since I was eight years old.
After throwing every trick in the book at this sinus infection of mine, I’m feeling really good, ready and inspired for 2025, especially with all the things that we have going on with the audience and new things that we have lined up for our monthly sponsors. Which includes, most importantly, Film Club as a counterpart to Book Club. The first movie that we are going to watch in February 2025 is Interstellar, which is a cinematic experience I have been waiting a long time to finally see in its entirety.
It’s exciting and necessary work for us to not only know what’s going on in the world, but to be a bigger part in the rebuilding of our culture. That’s why we have to take extra special care in the stories that we tell, in the movies that we watch, in the music we create - and there’s going to be a lot of musical creations this year, a lot of watching good films, or good and bad films, new and old and spirited conversation about all of that, and everything in between.
And who can forget the inauguration in a couple of weeks, which will be light years from the twilight zone experience that was January 2021. So much has happened since the November election and I’m sure everybody has their theories as to how the news of last couple of months is going to dictate the direction of the new administration, but we can only ever wait and see, and in the meanwhile take care of business at home.
Thank you for choosing to continue to support new media in 2025, and for being a part of our Quite Frankly family, we couldn’t do it without you.
Wishing you nothing but the best at the new year can offer and may we all be ready to seize the day when the opportunity may present itself.
