Baseball vs Modern American Politics

Plug in whatever teams you'd like.

In baseball, you usually have radically different team cultures, regional customs, business practices, and fan bases that contribute a diverse landscape of contestants — but they all love the game of baseball equally. They accept the object of the game, understand the rules (the need for rules).

Contemporary American politics and civic culture however is as if a soccer team and a baseball team showed up to a lacrosse field and proceeded to play a match loosely based on a game you may have once read about but were born too late to see.

One needs to predominate because they cannot coexist. That or a sinkhole will open up and swallow them both.
